Halloween means three things: costumes, candy, and a weekend of grooving down in Florida at The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park’s annual Hulaween Festival. On Tuesday, a mod on Reddit’s Hulaween thread /r/Hulaween dropped a hint that the lineup’s phase 2 announcement may include more jam music to round out the already impressive lineup. The post was a response to mixed feelings from Hula fans about the festival’s initial lineup, particularly its inclusion of Bassnectar and a fear that his incredibly enthusiastic fan-base would throw off the vibe of the historically jam and funk based festival.
We’ll have to wait and find out if this is just a rumor or if there are more additions to be had, but based off of last year’s announcement schedule, we shouldn’t be waiting much longer. Regardless of if more names get added, we’re already preparing our bodies and minds for a weekend of incredible acts including three nights of The String Cheese Incident, Griz, Ween, RL Grime, Claude VonStroke, and more than 50 other artists.
Maybe the real question we should be asking is: can we even handle any more?
