It’s been 9 years since Swedish House Mafia has released any new music. 9 long years of waiting in silence. Until now. Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello are officially back together, and they have released their first single since their breakup in 2013.
“It Gets Better” was first teased as a new ID when the trio opened up with it on their first reunion show in Stockholm back in 2019. With the original mix, we hear a classic electric house beat which we would normally expect from the group.

In the new and official mix, we hear the single take a completely new form. The track opens up with a thumping set of drum kicks that makes you feel like you’re marching into a battlefield. Then we transcend into a crescendo of even heavier kicks and eerie synths as the lyrics roll in, “It gets better baby“, which perfectly describes the track moving forward as we hear the first drop filled with a beautiful melody of cowbells. But it doesn’t stop there. It gets better as we transport into the final drop filled with rapid break beats accompanied with the enticing vocals of “It gets better”. The group is definitely getting more experimental and we’re excited to see them reanimate the EDM sound.

With the release of their first single, Swedish House Mafia has also announced a debut album, titled “Paradise Again”, which is set to release later this year. The group has already announced that they have enough music for multiple albums. “Paradise Again” will be the trio’s first full-length project, which will include all original and new production. Stay tuned for more information on additional singles and a future release date.
