On Tuesday, March 4th, Swindle is bringing his original funky grime all the way from London to Baltimore at Red Maple. If you’ve never heard this guys beats before, you’re in for a real treat.
At the age of 8, Swindle was a wizard on the piano and gained heavy jazz and reggae influence from names like Stevie Wonder, George Benson and Bob Marley. His father and older brother introduced him to a mixing desk and soon enough, Swindle was producing his own music of many different genres.
He really did start from the bottom, playing local parties, sharing music with his peers, sending his music to record labels and local companies. Now, Swindle has gained support from the likes of Ras Kwame (Radio One, 1xtra), Tim Westwood (Radio One, 1xtra), DJ Cameo (1xtra) & Logan Sama (Kiss 100). Two of his tracks received daytime playlisting on BBC 1xtra and he received best newcomer in the late Touch Magazine, 2007. He’s worked with names like Nate James, The Mitchell Brothers & Wiley, and became one of the executive producers on Ashley Walters self titled release.
Depth Perception, an exploration into the depths of Electronic Music in celebration of its roots and its vast future ahead, is a Tuesday night residency powered by PeopleSources Promo of Baltimore. Depth Perception is the place to be for unique electronic beats in the Baltimore area. Check out the other supporting acts and event details here.
