We’re not quite sure why, but the summer season always seems to make everything feel lighthearted and easygoing. Perhaps it’s the few extra hours of day time, or more appearances from the sun, but that very vibe was felt throughout this week’s episode of TechThisOut. In Episode 15, we indulge ourselves with five atmospheric, ambient masterpieces.
1. Bart Skils – Lost Boys
We begin with the dark, spellbinding title track from Bart Skils’ Lost Boys EP. His usage of winding hooks with an ominous atmosphere follows the true Drumcode spirit. There’s also a spiritually awakening segment in the song, complete with organ reminiscent synths.

2. Desire Line – Golden Monkey
“Golden Monkey” by Desire Line is a chic track composed of posh synths, echoed claps, and a consistent bassline. The Washington-based producer knows how to master minimal with this ambient delight.

3. Tiger Stripes – Detroit
“Detroit” is a unique tune off of Tiger Stripes’ Brrr EP; with a major shout out to the birthplace of techno. It consists mostly of distorted vocals, heavy electronic influences, and an unexpected wavy 90’s arpeggio break.
