Welcome to Episode 16 of TechThisOut! This week, we’re going dark with some of our current shadowy favorites from the likes of Bart Skils, Pan-Pot and more. Don’t be afraid to unleash your inner beast with these dreadfully delightful beats. Turn down all the lights, turn off your phone, and get ready to TechThisOut!
1. Pan-Pot – Pina
One of our favorite producer duos, Pan-Pot, is back with a haunting new EP titled: The Other One. The inclusion of echoed warps, treacherous brass bellows and daunting synths build an eerie atmosphere of uncertainty and isolation. You almost feel as if you’re sneaking around in a dark subway in the wee hours of the morning. We highly suggest giving “Pina” a well deserved listen.

2. Bart Skils – Dark Days
Bart Skils continues our dreary exposition with his aptly christened,”Dark Days.” We can always count on Drumcode Records to hit us with the darker sounds, and “Dark Days” presents itself as a very minimal piece with an emphasis on the foreboding percussion line. Chilling vocals laced with tingling claps and snares create a visceral awakening of your deepest senses.

3. Skober – Space And Time
We are funneling down the rabbit hole with this next tune from Ukrainian producer/Drumcode Sound Engineer, Skober. “Space And Time” is quite the composition; detailed with synth leads that are unique to Skober’s sound. You can feel the mood of ascension through spaced out echoes, electro synths, and hearty layers.

4. D-Deck &Alex Mine – Dhom (Original Mix)
It’s no secret—we prefer to explore the dark side of techno. In this next tune, D-Deck and Alex Mine join forces to create a minimal classic with punchy claps and swelling drums. The bassline of “Dhom” lingers with you unnervingly, long after the song has ended.

5. Kevin Over – DNT Mind (Original Mix)
We close out TTO Episode 16 with Kevin Over’s tech house piece entitled, “DNT Mind.” This track is a well blended mixture of swelling drums, soulful vocals, and posh electro synths. The recurring fade at 2:41 really puts your mind down the rabbit hole…and until next week, we’ll see you on the other side…
