Foreign Family Collective’s sibling duo Landis and Luke Tanaka are the talented people behind ODESZA’s live show visuals. The stunning visuals from their ‘A Moment Apart’ tour were all done in Cinema4D and Octane by this talented Collective.
After spending last summer hauling commercial fishing nets, pro skier Luke Tanaka was trying to figure things out. He got his lucky break three years after college when he was called up by Harrison Mills, an old college buddy of his. Harrison then reached out to Luke and asked him to visuals for his upcoming tour as ODESZA.
The 25-year-old had never produced concert visuals or anything similar to a light show before, but when that call comes in, you answer it, and you do whatever it says. “I dropped everything and hopped on,” He explained, “I was skiing in Jackson Hole in March, had never touched a visuals program, and had to learn all of it in a week before we went on tour.”
Now Luke continues to make visuals for ODESZA, most recently for their main stage performance at Coachella. He is also a pro skier, avid hiker, and a lover of the outdoors. Being an Alaskan Native, he is no stranger to the wilderness.
