Jenaux has been making 2018 his year after taking a break from releasing new music over the past two years. We first caught wind of this developing funk master when he dropped “Get it On” back in 2015 after it reached top numbers on both Spotify’s U.S. and Global Top 50’s charts, and we’ve been feverishly on his trail ever since. From beginning his career with performances at Pacha, Webster Hall, and Output to bringing his grooving talents to stages at festivals like Lightening in a Bottle, Camp Bisco and Governor’s Ball. The New York native has come back into 2018 stronger than ever with tracks like “Give it Up”, “My Friend”, “Could This Be Love” and “Love and Devotion”, each showcasing both that warm, upbeat Jenaux touch with masterful mixing of vocals and levels of nu disco that truly show his hard work is paying off.
There is never a bad time for some good funk music and Jenaux has gotten his hands on The Funk Hunter’s most recent track “Hands Up (Raise Your Fist)” off their album Typecast. While The Funk Hunters give us a deep and more purposeful look into their funk style and pocket, Jenaux has kicked it up a notch with a little more tempo, a little more guitar, and a touch of his own soul. We get some smooth keys to put us into a serene state of mind before we fall into those vocals and melodic guitar. He builds us up till we can’t take it anymore and just need to get up and move. With the warm, embracing bass runs and mesmerizing transformation of the vocals, “Hands Up (Raise Your Fist)” takes on a whole new persona.
We are highly addicted to this remix and the rest of the tracks Jenaux has put out this year. You can check out his remix on Spotify now.
