Thomas Jack is rapidly putting himself on the map this year due in large part to his completely unique, fresh spin on electronic music. As if his previous Tropical House Volume One wasn’t good enough, Jack graced our eardrums to his equally as great sequel a few days ago. Self-described as house music with a tropical spin on it, the talented young Aussie is breathing a breath of fresh air into the music scene today and it couldn’t come at a better time with summer right around the corner.
This latest edition is filled with unreleased edits from the man himself as well as remixes and originals from his chilled out counterparts. Throughout Volume Two you will hear a handful of familiar names such as Purple Disco Machine, Duke Dumont, and Kygo. What makes this even more enjoyable though are the meticulously chosen tracks from artists you may not have been aware of before. Jazz flutes are aplenty throughout, and my favorite point in the mix is without a doubt the 17:00 mark. Anytime you can throw in tropical feels to a Queen classic you are guaranteed to have my full attention. Ending the mix with “Younger” (Kygo Remix) is the perfect way to do it, as these two men seem to be some of the hottest up and coming producers of the moment.
