Offering a unique, and unparalleled experience for festival goers, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that tickets to the 10th annual instalment of Tomorrowland would sell remarkably fast. Not surprisingly, when tickets went on sale today, a reported 360 000 tickets were sold within one hour alone! Now a sold-out event, Tomorrowland will be happening over two weekends this year (July 18-20 and 25-27) in Boom, Belgium, and thus giving more dance music fans the opportunity to attend this noteworthy event. The ticketing process for this festival has been set up to be quite the extensive ordeal, with prospective attendees being required to register through the Tomorrowland website before ticket sales even commenced. Additionally, festival passes are to be personalized this year, in an effort to prevent secondary sales.
Last year’s edition of Tomorrowland was a massive success, with the festival having welcomed approximately 180 000 attendees from around 220 countries, and tickets having sold out in mere seconds. To top it off, an additional 16.8 million viewers worldwide watched the live broadcast of the festival, which was aired on YouTube. The first ever American version of the festival, TomorrowWorld, was also very successful, with 140 000 attendees having congregated for the event in Georgia this past September.
In contrast to most other major festivals, Tomorrowland has decided not to reveal the lineup in phases this year, but rather to drop the names of three performers each day. So far, several renowned DJs and producers, such as Hardwell, Tïesto, Nicky Romero and Armin van Buuren, have been announced to be performing at this year’s event, with several more distinguished names yet to be revealed.
