Zeds Dead is the one of the acts you need to see this year, and they will be throwing down Friday night of TomorrowWorld at the Mythical Frames stage from 10 – 11:30. Whether it’s dubstep, drumstep, d&b, deep house, electro, trap, chill trap, or any other project they tackle; Zeds Dead’s versatile production style and huge creative moves for electronic music make them one of the most underrated producer duos in the game.
Just listen to these 13 musical masterpieces below, each with something special to add to the amazing collection of Zeds Dead tunes. Trust us, by the end you’ll be just as in love as we are.
Blue Foundation – Eyes on Fire (Zeds Dead Remix)
I’ll bet if you think hard enough you can remember the first time you heard this remix, and I know you’ll never forget the first time you see them drop it live at one of their shows. Zeds Dead’s “Eyes on Fire” remix is the track that put them on the map as huge artists, and was a massive stride in their career.
Zeds Dead – Lost You (ft. Twin Shadow & D’Angelo Lacy)
One of the newest and funkiest tracks on this list, Zeds Dead really went out of the box with the deep house gem that is “Lost You”. Featuring the soulful vocals from Twin Shadow and D’Angelo Lacy and the heartfelt lyrics, you can’t help but sing along to this 80’s sounding, soon-to-be classic.
Zeds Dead – Coffee Break
One of the bigger tracks of Zeds Dead’s career and featured on their first album with Omar Linx and is a staple for any Zeds Dead lover’s playlist. “Coffee Break” is one of those songs that you can listen to over and over again and never get tired of.
Marina and the Diamonds – Lies (Zeds Dead Remix)
Marina’s chilling vocals and Zeds Dead’s magnificent vocal chopping over melodic dubstep womps make this track a beautiful grimy masterpiece. It’s the perfect blend of symphony and head bang, if they play this during a live show the crowd can’t help but get wild.
Zeds Dead – Ratchet
Showing off their trap/hype side, Zeds Dead comes in hot with “Ratchet” which immediately flew from the streets to the charts becoming a huge track. “Just say no to ratchet p****” became a slogan for many a club goer in late 2012 – early 2013.
Shut Up and Sing V2.0 (w/ Greta Svabo Bech)
One thing I’ll always recognize Zeds Dead for, no matter how they may change up their style, is their use of hip-hop elements topped with gorgeous vocals. In “Shut Up and Sing V2.0” their mastery of break beats is absolutely fantastic. It doesn’t matter if it’s chill and minimal, or fast with tons of breaks; I will always love Zeds Dead most for their drum and bass.
Zeds Dead & Omar Linx – You & I
Let’s take it back a few years to when Zeds Dead and Omar Linx collaborated for their EP Victor, one of the first electronic/hip-hop crossover albums ever. With Omar Linx’ raspy rhymes, tinkly female vocals and Zeds Dead’s deep womps, this classic track forever goes down in electronic history.
Zeds Dead – Hadouken
To even further highlight Zeds Dead’s versatile production style, we present “Hadouken” an original track with a trippy chill trap vibe and some extremely masterful producing. It’s unlike anything you’ve heard before and really shows that this duo is capable of anything.
Zeds Dead – Collapse (feat. Memorecks)
Another track off of their latest EP Somewhere Else, “Collapse” with Memorecks is a stunning, yet chilling, work of art. They include several seemingly opposite elements such as trap snares and tropical melodies for a result that is a showcase within itself. Take a close listen and you’ll hear several things you probably missed the first, or even the second, time around.
Nina Simone – Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood (Zeds Dead Remix)
Like true masters, Zeds Dead has managed to combine soul and drum n’ bass for a remix that is absolutely out of this world. They’ve revamped Nina Simone’s jazz classic “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” with some d n’ b and snazzed it up with a soothing melody for balance. It’s creepy, it’s trippy, it’s great to dance to, could we really ask for more?
The Prodigy – Breathe (Zeds Dead Remix)
Zeds Dead gives us a taste of their electro talents with their jaw-dropping remix of Prodigy’s “Breathe”. While they do include some of their signature dub-style, the electro influence is definitely apparent. It makes us giddy inside to hear yet another entirely unique piece from Zeds Dead.
Zeds Dead – By Your Side
A gorgeous track highlighting Zeds Dead’s immense dubstep production skills. The way they’ve distorted the melody into the rolling womps and overlaid the heart wrenching vocals truly shows their capacity for creating huge hit after hit.
Zeds Dead x Hunter Siegal – LOUD
Yep, Zeds Dead has even had a hand in producing house music. Staying true to their own style and flair, they’ve brought a bit of Zeds Dead distorted sounds to bring a whole new dynamic. In this collaboration with Hunter Siegal, things get “LOUD”.
If you get a chance to catch their set at TomorrowWorld, look to be swept away by dubs and feels beyond your imagination. While this duo has quite a repertoire of music behind them, they still continue to find the newest underground tracks and keep the crowd guessing for an experience that is unforgettable. Don’t miss them at the Mythical Frames stage 10 – 11:30 (right between A-Trak and Bassnectar) the first night of TomorrowWorld.
