French House producer Tony Romera drops a new single off his upcoming debut album ‘Introspection’ — the high-powered ‘MS69.’ This ensemble is a breath of fresh air through its gritty Prodigy/The Bloody Beetroots vibes, groovy house basslines, and vintage vocal chops expertly layered throughout the song. He has crafted the perfect throwback sound that puts respect on all things OG; from a sea of vinyls and warehouse raves to a concrete jungle where breakdancers reigned supreme.
‘MS69’ sounds like it could been the backdrop to classic rave films such as “Go” or “Groove,” with Romera explaining that the project is an ode to his Lyon roots and electronic pioneers. The title takes “MS” from the Korg MS-20 analog synth used on the track, while “69” is a nod to his hometown postal code 69000 (in France). Lastly Tony is no stranger to the game, having produced for over a decade alongside icons like Calvin Harris, MØ, Diplo, Tchami, and Dombresky, to name a few from his expansive career. Keep an eye out for ‘Introspection,’ which takes a reflective look at the genres and scenes that shaped him, out on Monstercat soon! Listen/Download HERE.
