One of Eastern Ontario’s most anticipated electronic music events, and even having been ranked #10 on Pulse Radio’s “20 Must Do Parties Before You Die” list, Toronto’s Electric Island concert + picnic series has just revealed a stellar lineup of performers to headline its opening weekend, and is safe to say that it will not leave avid dance music fans disappointed. With the first of the four Summer dates scheduled for May 19th, it has been announced that the esteemed, and widely-respected techno legend Sven Väth will be playing the event, along with other distinctive and seasoned DJ/Producers who will represent the more classic, underground style of electronic music.
In addition to Väth, Irish-born DJ/producer Mano Le Tough, who is currently dominating the scene in Berlin, will be playing a set, as will the highly-versatile London-based artist Daniel Avery. Some of Toronto’s ample local talent will also be exhibited at Electric Island, with scheduled performances from Jonathan Rosa, Jamie Kidd, and Rafwat & Chorniy throughout the day.
Last year’s edition of the event was a massive success, having brought in some noteworthy artists such as Seth Troxler, Green Velvet, Hot Since 82, and Sasha, and from the looks of it thus far, year’s event is should be just as remarkable. To be held at Centre Island, these performances will be complemented by a striking view of Toronto’s skyline and waterfront.
