UK Duo Torqux, once known as Torqux and Twist, originally rose to prominence with their exceptionally filthy dubstep productions, with grating-saw basslines and halftime percussions. But more recently, they have been diversifying their sound, producing a few glitch hop and house tunes with fellow UK musician Culprate. Their newest free download, “No Way Back,” is a filthy reminder that Torqux has not forgotten about the dirtier side of things. Reminiscent of the legendary “UK Duo 16bit,” “No Way Back” starts off with an almost soothing piano melody before dropping into one of the most relentless basslines in any track so far this year.
