Trippy Turtle (possible alter-ego of Cashmere Cat) has just dropped his “Jersey club” mix for this week’s “Diplo & Friends”. For those of you that listened to hip-hop around the time of Y2K, this mix will take you back. It features a ton of late 90’s and early 2000’s hip-hop tracks blended with some dope trap beats as well as remixes of popular songs like “D.A.N.C.E”, “One More Time” and even the “Thong Song”.
The “Jersey Club” sound has been making its way across the U.S. to the delight of fans everywhere, this movement can best be described as a re-grouping of all sounds together to create one solid bass-heavy sound. Jersey Club music is known for taking influences from all across the spectrum including rap, r&b, pop, indie, ringtones, television samples, you name it, the most popular Jersey Club DJs will make it fit together.
