Trivecta and Nurko have come to bless our ears this lovely Friday with their first ever collaboration, “You Can Be My Light”, on Ophelia Records. As we all know, Trivecta is no stranger to the Ophelia-verse, with his Everyday EP skyrocketing his success and creating a whole new sub-genre, “folk bass”. Nurko has recently snuck up on us and blown us away completely, from his fire set on the Groove Cruise livestream two weeks ago to his recent drop of a remix pack of his stream-garnering single, “Faith”, with vocalist Dia Frampton. Earlier this week Nurko was also selected to lead us in our journey in the Ophelia Odyssey series, you can listen here. With Trivecta’s goal to, “make dubstep beautiful again”, and Nurko’s endless well of versatile talent, these two were bound to create something spellbinding.
Now the two powerhouse talents have come together for their collab single, “You Can Be My Light”. Being that this is Nurko’s debut on Ophelia, they pulled out all the stops to really make this one special. We are submerged, with melodic bells, Monika Santucci’s honeyed vocals, and intricate combinations of guitar and piano harmonies sculpting out the sonic landscape. We’re built up into an emotional drop, where we discover that much needed source of brightness in our lives that have been shrouded in the dark.
