March 2nd, 2014 marked an extremely special day for Porter Robinson as he unveiled one of the songs off of his highly anticipated forthcoming album, Worlds. The track, elegantly titled “Sea Of Voices,” has been described by one listener as the act of angels singing in perfect harmony – WRR can’t help but agree. The balance of beauty and anticipation is tied together flawlessly before being flipped into a rapturous synth flurry with the conclusion of emotive, poetic vocal harmonics – that’s seriously a recipe for waterworks.
Shortly after Porter unleashed “Sea Of Voices” the track started trending worldwide on Twitter, all during the 86th Academy Awards show. In nearly 24 hours his tunes has garnered close to 250,000 plays on SoundCloud – with many more to come.
We knew Robinson planned on setting aside the electro elements of EDM – which he had become known for – to focus on writing electronic tunes that leaned more toward the style of arguably his most well know track “Language”. As for what we could expect, WRR wasn’t sure, however, from listening to “Sea Of Voices” we can say that if his album follows suite the world is in for an amazing treat.
After rummaging through Twitter we’ve complied a few tweets that stuck out and properly epitomize the overall feedback from fans in regards to this release. Enjoy.
