Ultra is widely recognized as one of the biggest, most innovative festivals on the face of the planet. Now, their ‘Mission: Home’ Sustainability Program is turning heads across both the environmental and event industries.
The program centers around five objectives: Waste Reduction, Pollution Prevention, nature Preservation, Community Engagement, and Climate Action. During the 22nd annual, sold-out festival in Miami’s Bayfront Park, the program sufficiently carried out 30 initiatives. Through its objectives and initiatives, ‘Mission Home’ has earned awards and verifications at local, state, and even international levels.
Ultra’s dedication to ‘Mission Home’s mission, “to expand the environmental consciousness of everyone our programs reach, positively shifting behavior both on and off festival grounds,” is unmistakable based on their results. 128,000 pounds of waste was deflected away from landfills and the recently created food and supply rescue plan led to more than 22,000 pounds of resources being revitalized.
Speaking on this year’s success, Ultra’s Founder and CEO Russel Faibisch announced, “our ‘Mission: Home’ program has become part of the fabric of our organization. I was thrilled to see it return with us this year and could not be more proud to be recognized as an industry leader in this space.”
One of the many accolades Ultra earned was ‘2-Star Blue Verification’, a verification from international NGO Oceanic Global, which refers to their efforts as the top practices for extensive sustainable operations. Ultra and the ‘Mission Home’ program also received many other recognitions and awards.
Ultra’s obligation to sustainability serves as a role model to millions of fans worldwide, showcasing an optimistic future for the events industry.
