Miami-native Unomas, aka Marcos Casassa, has had a unique rise over the last four years. A growth track from podcast to remixes soon lead to Ultra Music releases and performances as his talent began to stand while his DJ/production skills grew and improved. Unomas features a chill sound with a house twist, “Heart Beat Faster” is one of the soloist’s recent releases that embodies this. A collaboration with Teo Mandrelli released on Tipsy Records, the tune gained the support of HELDEEP #241, its smooth and melodic vocals fitting right into the the Heldens realm.
Unomas took the time to chat with us about this single, working with Teo Mandrelli, performances, and much more, you can read the full interview below:
You two have made multiple releases together, what makes it natural to work and finish tracks together?
UNOMAS – Teo and I have been great friends for a while now and we both have similar mindsets. I always enjoy any opportunity to work with him. Every time we get together something magical happens.
How did the idea behind “Heart Beat Faster” come together?
UNOMAS – We were just messing around with different bass synth ideas, and then we found this cool vocal on Splice that happened to fit the track perfectly. Usually, we try to avoid using Splice but we loved the way it sounded so we kept it in.
Who are the artists that have influenced the style for the two of you?
UNOMAS – From Lost Frequencies to Redondo, we love all feel good music.
What are some significant changes in dance music you’ve noticed since you’ve started out, compared to 2019?
UNOMAS – I started making music and Djing when I was 16 years old. Over the years, I have seen how much dance music has evolved in a big way. I still remember when trance was the hottest sound and all my friends listened to Paul Van Dyke. Now in 2019, there are so many new styles to experiment with like Dubstep or Trap. I really like all of them.
What is the most inspiring or favorite event you have played in your career?
UNOMAS – I love playing at Ultra Miami and in events for WMC. Last year, I got the chance to DJ at some of the coolest parties like the Armada pool party and the Claptone party at the 1 Hotel South Beach. Each gig offers something different and they always have fun vibes.
What are your goals for 2019?
UNOMAS – So far we just want to keep writing and releasing as much great music as possible in 2019. Both of us are very excited.
