Stephen – Crossfire
Stephen has had one of the most impressive years in the industry as an upcoming act compared to most. His newest single “Crossfire” proves yet again that you he can make unique pop music that has hints of rock, funk, and electronic music sprinkled through out it. This song, next to his “Hello” cover (Adele), is my favorite piece of music by him to come out yet! Loving the trippy Eastern vibes on the chorus a lot, and I’m sure you will too!
Oshi – Pink
Rising trap star and UK native Oshi just released a fresh new single simply called “Pink” and it bangs like no other. This kid is so young and inspiring, in under a year he’s been picked up by the biggest electronic booking agency in the states (AM Only), garnered support from countless fans and artists on the scene alike, and he still hasn’t even dropped a full project yet. Stoked for more new music by Oshi in 2016!
TastyTreat – For a Minute (feat. MOONZz)
This song is so damn pretty. The future / soul / jazz hybrid is all over the place genre wise, but somehow it’s the perfectly concoction of various musical elements and sub-genres. MOONZz vocals are almost as strong as California production duo TastyTreat’s future funky beats. Great vibes all around!
Kicks N Licks – Mind ft Lauren Hunter
After releasing their first-half of Young Mind Kicks N Licks revealed part two of the experience “Mind.” The tune is much more experimental than “Young,” the two together creating a unique balance act that can appease even the most jaded listener.
TRAVIS SCOTT – ANTIDOTE (LUCA LUSH REMIX)
Luca Lush really snapped on this one! Flipping Travis Scott’s single “Antidote” into a high energy remix that is fueled by bass, future style production and an overall hyphy, left field approach on the hip-hop record, it’s out of control in the best way.
Tuslo – Ball
This new original by Tuslo probably could have fit on this week’s Powerful Picks segment, but during times where it doesn’t sound like a bass infused Carmack, it’s got a low key, eerie vibe to it that’s pretty chill IMO. Tuslo is a new L.A. based tag team who haven’t even been dropping music for a year yet, but get better every release. Check out “Ball” by Tuslo.
Xela – Back on the Move [Prod. Manitee]
Damn Xela is someone I clearly need to keep my eyes and ears on, because “Back on the Move” is quite the hit. Produced by Manitee, the abstract trap production is a quirky, bounce instrumental that is the perfect beat for Xela to spit on. Listen for yourself – keep this cat on your radar!
Gravez – Stay Tough (feat. JMSN & ELHAE)
This isn’t a trio to be reckon with. Gravez, one of the newer affiliates of HW&W Recordings, teams up with JMSN and ELHAE for a soulful new R&B infused dark trap cut that is soulful as hell. Both vocalist bring a different style of type of swagger to GRAVEZ hard pounding instrumental, to create a great new collab.
TKDJS – Over You feat. James Teale
From the album art to the overall sound, “Over You” fuses a spiritual vibe with damn good house music. TKDJS won’t be leaving my radar anytime soon.
MAKO – Smoke Filled Room (Adam Kahati Remix)
With “Smoke Filled Room (Adam Kahati Remix)” it’s the drop that gets you. Highlighting the powerful, yet super relatable progressive style MAKO projects, Adam Kahati adds a melodic house frame to the MAKO original, giving his take swagger and style.
Coasts – Oceans (Young Bombs Remix)
There are few artists who know how to improve upon a genre. Young Bombs does just this with their remix of “Oceans.” Blending euphoric energy, pop, and all-around catchiness, “Oceans (Young Bombs Remix)” is a perfect anthem for anytime.
A-Trak & Zoofunktion – Place On Earth
Releasing December 7th, A-Trak proves his music is evolving too. The abstract but very on point, very impowering “Place On Earth,” a collaboration with Zoofunktion, nails it.
Panski – Take Me Home, Country Roads (Ellena Soule Cover)
An excellent cover by the likes of Panski. Showcasing his folk-house / chill house style. “Take Me Home, Country Roads (Ellena Soule Cover)” blends the beauty of all-american folk music with the modernness of today’s electronic music scene. With over 100K, it’s safe to say Panski has made his mark in the scene.
LVNDSCAPE ft. Joel Baker – Speeches
After joining the crew of faceless producers, LVNDSCAPE continues to strengthen his resume with his latest tropical house effort, “Speeches,” featuring vocalist, Joel Baker. With light, catchy synths contrasted by Joel’s strong voice, this track will surely make waves in the blogosphere and beyond.
