In Vermyllion’s latest release “Orange Sunshine,” the artist pulls together a fascinating blend of bass-leaning genres in to formulate not just a single that genuinely stands-out on many levels, but a sound that quickly separates and disguises his style and signature sound.
From the beginning, dub-tinged trumpets and light vocal samples pre-face a fast-acting experimental basslines. Moments later the percussion comes in, introducing a barrage of unique technicality.
This pattern broadly repeats with more explosive bass sections found within. The overall journey is head-turning, especially for the more bass-nerd leaning type.
After the success of “Dreamstate” and “Purple Pills,” the solo artist has geared up for a more constant flow of Vermyllion in 2019. “Orange Sunshine” is a continuation of this vision.
