This year’s Vibey Desert came back with a bang, consisting of a two-night music extravaganza, complete with two stages, Hennessy & Void sound systems, and an incredibly stacked line up of artists. Their team put in a massive amount of work to make this desert oasis come to life, building both stages from scratch and outfitting them with artistic elements to create a special weekend for artists and attendees alike. This festival took place in the Mojave Desert over the weekend of July 9-11th and was the first year this event expanded from a one to two day gathering.
Friday night opened with some ear rattling music, with festival curator Lyqd throwing down to really get the night started. Headliner and bass music veteran, Potions, took the stage and delivered an impressively technical set with both new and unreleased music. Stand out artists for the night were definitely Curra and Lita Lotus, two badass ladies who threw down the heaviest of beats. These two are seriously ones to watch, keep an eye on big things to come from them both.
Saturday night was stacked with the lineup: the premiere of Jordan Hill‘s live set, Aztek taking us into sundown, and the darkness brought the likes of Noer the Boy, JORDNMOODY, and LEVITATE. Personal standout of the night was definitely Noer the Boy, who threw down heater after heater, giving us a sneak peak of some unreleased tracks while dazzling everyone’s eardrums with the dirtiest of bass. It was a well rounded day of extremely talented artists, both musically and visually.
Both nights featured production from Future Elevator Productions, and brilliant visuals provided by VJ’s Bobbie Bunn, StePHen LaCount, Cameron Coy, Trippy Tapes, and Blast Off Visuals. They put in a tremendous amount of work to really take the production to the next level. The ambiance was further complimented by a menagerie of talent fire spinners and dancers, bringing the desert to life with spectacularity abound.
This was a weekend of plenty of ear rattling music, and conditions were trying with some record breaking heat and sandstorms to boot, however festival organizers were incredibly attentive. They made sure all attendees had ample water and provided moral support while everyone banded together to brave the elements. This weekend was one for the books, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store to come!
Until next year!!
