How to get Freefest Tickets
Tickets go “On Free” to the public at noon Friday, August 9th with a pre-sale being held on Thursday, August 8th for Facebook friends and Twitter followers. All tickets are sold through Ticketfly who waves all of the fees. Donations are encouraged as the funds help towards youth homelessness in Washington D.C. and also help keep this one-of-a-kind free festival going.
Virgin Mobile Freefest will be returning to Merriweather Post Pavilion on September 21, 2013. There’s no lineup or ticket information yet, but expect more details to roll out in the upcoming weeks. Last years lineup was announced by the people and we imagine something similar to happen in 2013.
This year’s Freefest is sponsored by Samsung who has recently put a ton of money towards music / life events to reach the generation-y demographic. Maybe this means Jay Z will be coming to Baltimore. Even though it’s just a date announcement, we can’t help but get excited by one of our favorite festivals all year.
Freefest is a free music festival put on each year by Virgin Mobile. The money raised through donations goes towards Youth Homeless in Washington D.C. Last year’s performers included Jack White, Skrillex, Above & Beyond, Porter Robinson, Thomas Gold, Nervo, Zedd and Nas.
For EDM fans, this puts Freefest the weekend before TomorrowWorld 2013. It also occurs the same day as Life in Color (Dayglow) Washington D.C.
We’ll be at both events and hope to see you there.
