VRG has released a new remix of “Broken Hearted,” the collaborative track by San Holo, SLANDER, and Julia Church. The Oregon-based producer takes the song into a darker, heavier space, adding his own structure and sound design while keeping the core vocal presence of the original. The release follows his recent appearance at Lost Lands.
The remix begins with Julia Church’s vocals placed over a more shadowed and spacious intro before VRG shifts the track into a harder drop built around sharp percussion and dense low-end. The production leans into his usual approach: clean impact, tight rhythms, and layers that build quickly without overcrowding the mix. The second half brings some of the original tone back in, giving the track a clearer balance between melody and weight.
VRG has been steadily building his catalog with releases on Bassrush, Monstercat, Subsidia, and Bassweight. He has also performed at events including EDC Orlando and Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge, gaining attention for sets that move between heavy dubstep, trap, hard techno, and rap-influenced sections. His work tends to blend direct, high-energy drops with more cinematic textures, and this remix follows that same approach.
Speaking on the release, VRG noted that he wanted to raise the intensity of the track while still keeping recognizable elements from the original version. The remix continues his pattern of taking emotional material and reworking it into something aimed at the live environment.
VRG’s recent run of shows and releases suggests he will remain active through the year, with more new music expected soon.
