It was only a matter of time before the Dirtybirds would get ahold of Walker & Royce’s acclaimed album Self Help. And while you think that you’ll get another album filled with tech house tracks, these are anything but. While there are tech house-takes on the albums, they give a refreshing take on tracks that were originally very funky and vocal and remade them into tech-filled-frenzy for the more electronic minded, or snobs do I stay?
Whether it’s J. Phlip’s techno flip on “Rub Another Dub,” Justin Martin’s deep house dive into “Take Me To Your Leader,” or Justin Martin teaming up with Ardalan making “Can You Pass That?” less of a question, and more of an athem, it’s all right now, and just what we would expect.
