Acid-house trio, Phuture, returned to their roots in Chicago to play a Boiler Room set earlier this week, and needless to say, it did not disappoint. Highly respected as pioneers of the genre, Phuture laid down a phenomenal set with a diverse track selection, weaving the tunes together in a seamless manner to showcase their adeptness and proficiency at mixing. Having entered the scene as a group back in 1985, Phuture definitely knows how to put together a memorable set, which, as can be seen clearly in the video, has the enthusiastic crowd grooving to the timeless acid sound. This video is quite compelling to watch, giving fans a clear view of the Phuture’s DJing equipment throughout the nearly-hour-long set. This set is a must-hear for acid-house enthusiasts like myself, and definitely serves as a refreshing throwback to the sound that dominated the earlier years of the dance music scene.
