Dance music has been very well represented in the mainstream media as of late, with many noteworthy DJs and producers having made appearances on national television. Zedd is no amateur when it comes to performing on live television, having made some remarkable appearances on Fallon, and Letterman over the past year. Last night, Zedd has brought his manifest musical talent to Jimmy Kimmel Live, translating his new hit tune, “Find You” to the stage for a unique, and distinctive live performance. Accompanied by the lush vocals of Miriam Bryant and Matthew Koma, Zedd has once again pulled off a beautiful arrangement of an electronic track, having chosen to play an acoustic version on the piano instead of just “pressing play”, like many would expect from a DJ.
Zedd has once again pushed the boundaries of dance music with this performance, and has clearly shown a new layer of depth to the genre, proving that electronic tracks can be composed with intelligent musical elements in mind. Zedd has been on a roll over the past few weeks, having won a Grammy for his omnipresent song, Clarity (featuring Foxes), as well as having “Find You” featured in a Super Bowl Budweiser advertisement. Check out the video below from Jimmy Kimmel Live (which is a six-minute clip of the performance recorded by a smartphone from a TV screen):
