Earlier today Lindsay Lowend directed my attention to a song by Alex Young and Jonah Baseball when he reposted their song to his SoundCloud. Given my undying love and loyalty to Lindsay I gave it a listen and was pleasantly surprised with what greeted my ears. The song is a rework of the original produced by McCallaman featuring GoldLink that was released a few months ago. I recognized the Alex Young name from EDC two years ago and am impressed with the direction his sound is going if this is any indication. I’m not as familiar with Jonah Baseball but I may have to check him after this piece.
The song begins much like the original, with soft swooping tones and smooth vocals of GoldLink. After the original has run its course Alex and Jonah take over adding some white noise and lovely synths. Accompanying that is the “nah nah nah nah hey hey hey goodbye” lyrics that we all know so well. Definitely a chill end of the night track. Check it out below
