Last Friday was a night for old school raving. It was a time for people to let loose like it was the mid 2000’s.
Playing to packed venue filled with fans all too excited to relive days gone by Wild Nights resident deejay Nick Skitz kicked off the party at the Trak Lounge in style. With a set that was comprised of hits from the last ten years, it gave the audience a primer to the kind of experience we would all be undertaking together.
As N-Trance took the stage, the time machine cranked up. Playing their signature reworks of classic 1970’s dance songs, the duo got everybody in the mood to dance and get nostalgic.
As the potential energy in the room rose, DJ Aligator graced the stage. His electro set sparked the powder keg of enthusiasm with tracks straight from a 2012 festival circuit set. Alternating classic pump up tracks with his new recordings, DJ Aligator worked the crowd.
When the onstage emcee pleaded with DJ Aligator to “Take It Back to the Old School” he was all too happy to oblige. All hell broke loose as the crowd stomped along to early 2000’s eurotrance. His high energy set finished by coaxing everyone in the venue to “Blow The Whistle” before he took his well-earned leave of absence.
The crowd got a brief reprieve as Love Inc. (featuring Simone Denny) instilled their own groove of funky disco tunes. The duo brought crowd members on stage to dance and sing along to their own collection of well-worn tunes.
DJ Sash was tasked with bringing the energy back up and he did so with what were clearly crowd favorite vibes. His eurotrance selections got the crowd back in the mood to dance and brought back all nostalgic feelings for the main event.
The excitement of the crowd hung thick in the air as Cascada came out onto the stage. The crowd gave the German dance icons a warm welcome by singing along to basically every song in the hour long set. The crowd did their best to match Natalie Horler’s powerful voice. However, it was just not possible as the singer and deejays on stage put forth a performance that was incredible.
It was a night filled with sing-alongs and old vibes, the kinds that stick with you long after you’ve blasted them for the 200th time.
