While Dirtybird crew regular Will Clarke became a crowd favorite by spinning and producing cheeky tech-house bangers, the now infamous bearded, Bristol-born producer and DJ takes things to a more sophisticated realm with the release of his latest three-track EP, Nothing is Forever.
Released on Drumcode’s sister label Truesoul, Clarke’s first entirely instrumental EP is the perfect fit to stir things up at Adam Beyer’s selective techno imprint,
The EP’s title track is powerful from start to finish, featuring a stomping bassline that carries the track till’ the end and packs a relentless dance-ready punch. Marked by haunting synths and an intense atmosphere, the track is melodic but menacing – a contradiction we can’t get enough of.
In “Mujac,” Clarke keeps things moving with a shimmying tech-house bassline contrasted against floating chords to create a track that’s designed to get dancefloors moving. The closing track “Meta” hinges on the contrast between breathtakingly low-end synths and sharp, concise percussion elements to create an atmospheric track that is ripe for warehouse parties and dark dance floors.
Stream the EP above and embrace Will Clarke’s new techno-tinged chapter, we’ll be doing the same.
