William Fredriksson has been on a journey of self-discovery throughout 2022. Just shy of 13 years as a prominent producer and artist in the Swedish music industry, Will felt his passion for music was fading. Even after selling gold, Will had decided to leave his solo artist career but was struggling to find his identity in his production.
Turning over a new leaf, Will has dropped his latest single “Holy Ones” on the prestigious label Virgin Music Sweden. This track was inspired by a prayer that took place with Will’s spiritual mentor Cristian. A few hours later, Will wrote the lyrics to “Holy Ones”, marking the birth of Will Laroca.
Talking about the message behind the track, Will explains, “everyone has darkness and light, we all struggle with those sides and the song is about overpowering your darkness, standing firm, and believing in your purpose. If you have a purpose, you are a holy one. Have some faith and know your worth!”
“Holy Ones” is a mesmerizing pop-EDM hybrid that fuses components of slap house and melodic house. Additionally, the song draws inspiration from Christian hymns and spiritual tonalities. Complementing the beautiful track, the single is joined by a stunning music video that features Will in a post-apocalyptic desert environment. As he runs from a brooding sandstorm, a shepherd in the distance comes to his rescue.
The video highlights the everlasting battle between darkness and light that Will powerfully sings about throughout “Holy Ones”. Even though Will found himself when writing “Holy Ones”, the track promotes the same for people who feel lost and need a source of hope in their lives.
