Unless you’re living on another planet, you know that Buku Music + Artist Project is coming this March 20th and 21st. WRR has been bringing you the latest Buku announcements, lineup information, and produced a list on why you’ll be dying to attend Buku Project 2014. Now Buku and WRR have teamed up to provide a fantastic, high-value giveaway. The prize? Two GA tickets to the entire festival. No, you’re not dreaming. This year is set to be the biggest and busiest year yet, encompassing top-notch electronic artists like David Guetta, Carnage, Bauuer, RL Grime/Clockwork, Griz and dozens more across five intimate stages.
Power Plant
The epicenter of Buku Project, the Power Plant stage, revolves around a single theme: the sky-scraping Factory chimneys just beyond the stage. The stage will feature the headliners booked for Buku Project including David Guetta, Ellie Goulding, Zedd, The Flaming Lips, Chromeo, and more. The personability of Power Planet stage performances is always awesome no matter where you’re standing, this year’s lineup promises to enhance this experience further.
Float Den
The Float Den stage is easily my favorite. Housed within a Mardi Gras float warehouse, the stage is surrounded by abstract figures and parade aesthetics that fill you with a fun freaky feeling. The lineup is jam-packed with the hottest up-and-coming electronic artist, as well as a few legends. Kaskade, Carnage, DJ Snake, Zeds Dead, Paper Diamond, The Glitch Mob and many more are set to perform.
Ballroom
The ballroom is the sickest stage inside Buku. The two-story space is condensed enough to completely engulf you with surround sound, but spacious enough to provide comfortable dancing, breathing, and viewing room. The Ballroom stage will feature Explosions In The Sky, Danny Brown, Beats Antique, Pusha T and handful of others.
S.S. Buku
Docked alongside Buku Project is the S.S. Buku, a traditional ferry boat transformed into a luxurious VIP area. The 3-story ferry comes equipped with an open bar, a clear view of the Power Plant stage, and it’s own stage and lineup, a perfect place where VIP attendees can escape to a more exclusive environment. S.S. Buku lineup features Holy Ghost!, Khris Royal, Miami Horror and scores of others.
Back Alley
The Back Alley stage is a new 5th stage that Buku is introducing in 2014. The atmosphere offers a unique outdoor space with a magnificent view of the Crescent City Bridge. No photos of the new space yet, but you can expect thousands to pour in after the festival. This is Buku Project’s most diverse stage where almost any genre can be heard. Skream, Soul Clap, Cashmere Cat, and several others will be dishing their beats out here.
Artistic Additions
Let’s focus on the art. During the 2-day festival, the”Graffiti Showcase,” a platform of local graffiti artist who will be producing new works, will be in full swing, as well as “Fort Buku,” an awesome seating component comprised of “net and shipping containers, which provides rooftop and hammock-style viewing of the main stage.” More unannounced musical and visual surprises will be revealed come March 20th. Now, let’s get to the contest!
