Bingo Players was founded in 2006 by Dutch DJs Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Baumer. Although there is currently only one member, Bingo Players will always remain plural. Their first break out song “Cry (Just a little)” would come in 2011 and reach the Top 40 in Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Australia. The electro house producers would go on to gain more notoriety with their hit song “Rattle”. The well known track would become an anthem being played at festivals and clubs all over the world. The single is certified gold in Canada, silver in the United Kingdom, and four time platinum in Australia. They also founded Hysteria Records, which showcases tracks from up and coming electro house producers. The label has seen releases from artists like Bassjackers, MAKJ, Sandro Silva, and Gregori Klosman.
In July of 2013, Paul would announce via the Bingo Players Facebook page that he had been diagnosed with cancer. Maarten would continue touring while Paul headed their label and sought treatment. On December 17th, 2013, Paul would pass away after battling cancer for over a year. At the wishes of Paul, Maarten would continue with Bingo Players, releasing the single “Knock You Out” as a tribute to him in 2014. Since Paul’s passing, Maarten has teamed up with the charity, F*ck Cancer that supports the prevention and early detection of the deadly disease. Their goal is to use digital content, media, and programs to change the way people talk about and view cancer.
Bingo Players will be headlining their “Bingo Beach” event slated to take over Governors Club on June 18th. Along with Bingo Players, we will see performances from electronic acts Quintino, Jenaux, Cheat Codes, and special guest, Bassjackers. All proceeds from this event will be donated to F*ck Cancer.
