Updated: Originally this story broke across the interwebz, making it seem like Wolfgang Gartner was “dissing” 3LAU during his Reddit AMA. However, thanks to EDM Canada, WRR now understands what actually went on. Apparently the user, aedgar777, who asked the original question, went back and edited the text. This left Wolfgang’s comment – “thanks. me too.” – as the answer to “3lau is a joke. I think you’re just the man to end that charlatan’s career.” Clearly aedgar777 has it out for Justin, but then again that doesn’t really matter. What matters is that Reddit has defused the situation, here are a few of the comments on Wolfgang’s thread:
Did Justin overreact? Personally, I don’t think so. I won’t take lightly to someone questioning my skills at my craft. Regardless, all of this “beef” is untrue. We knew something seemed a little skewed. There have been a lot of misunderstanding’s in the dance music industry lately.
Original Story: Wolfgang Gartner hosted a Reddit AMA yesterday and answered a series of questions in the most honest way. WhiteRaverRafting has always applauded Wolf, between his no-bullshit attitude, high quality productions and talent behind the decks, we believe him to be one of the best around. Regardless, yesterday over his lengthy conversation with strangers on the internet, including an epic troll by deadmau5, one user brought up the topic of 3LAU. The user, aedgar777, stated: “3lau is a joke. I think you’re just the man to end that charlatan’s career.” Quick to respond, Gartner simply tossed out a “thanks. me too” to the dismay of Justin.
Today a frustrated and aggravated Justin Blau came out on Facebook with this post:
Shortly after voicing his opinion, Justin deleted the post, only to take things a step further. The three words that Wolfgang uttered on Reddit were enough to inspire 3LAU’s “Piano Concept”. This was Justin’s way of proving his musicianship to his haters.
This attempted to silence the “haters” and hash comments 3LAU was receiving works for WhiteRaverRafting. We’re a huge fans of this upload. Though, Justin has a lot to prove with the original records that he has on the way in 2014, however, we have faith in him. As for Wolfgang, he has accomplished a lot throughout his career and will continue to do so. He’s a fantastic example for up-and-coming producers. At the end of the day I don’t believe he’ll comment on this situation any further simply because it probably doesn’t mean much to him.
We can only hope that these two artists set their differences aside and continue to make brilliant music for us to listen to.
