One of the founding Four-Fathers of Dirtybird, Worthy is set to land with option4 tomorrow night at U St Music Hall. As a DC native, we can’t be more excited to see what Sean W Williams, aka Worthy has in store for us. DC represent! After recently smashing his set along with a few guest appearances on Holy Ship! 8.0, he has now taken flight going on his One on One Tour from 01/13 through 3/11 for 23 unique shows, teaming up with a different artist or group for each stop. That’s intensely awesome.
Worthy isn’t just Dirtybird, as he also has his own record label Anabatic Records as well so that he can push his creativity to any limit that he chooses. And with perfect timing Anabatic Records just turned ten years old, and in celebration, Worthy put together a mix for Traxsource which is a great compilation of great Dirtybird tracks from himself, his fellow brethren, and of course releases from his label.
If you want a clean and straight-to-the-point of taste of what Worthy is on Anabatic, check out his newest track “Keep Me Up”, a deep house much that’s anything but ordinary.
He described the track himself as:
Somehow ‘Keep Me Up’ came out of me being inspired by Maceo Plex’s classic track ‘Falling’. Not sure how it all came together from that now, but I smoked some weed, sang some lyrics about what keeps me up and moving, added a little grime, and it all just seemed to come together.“ Word!
And don’t forget to get there in time to see Brennan Bryarly, aka option4, as well. The Denver native describes his music as “More house than tech, more deep than disco.” So what is it? It’s option4! Check out his new track “The Art of the Betrayer” for some funky tech house.
