Rising trance duo W&W announced today that member Willem van Hanegem has been hospitalized and that their remaining June tour dates are canceled. Via their Facebook page:
We regret to inform you that we have been forced to cancel all of our appearances through the month of June. Willem is currently in the hospital with heart and lung complications and on doctor’s order has been grounded for the entire month of June. Willem is expected to make a full recovery but will be unable to travel until June 30th.
Below are the shows that will be cancelled. Where possible dates will be rescheduled.
June 14 – Village – Dublin, Ireland
June 15 – Summerburst – Stockholm, Sweden
June 16 – Guaba – Limasol, Cyprus
June 17 – Privilege – Ibiza, Spain
June 21 – Marquee – Las Vegas, NV
June 22 – EDC Las Vegas – Las Vegas, NV
June 27 – White Club – Beirut, Lebanon
June 29 – Sunrise Festival – Lilse, Bergen, Belgium
June 29 – Ruhr-in-Love – Oberhausen, GermanyThank you for understanding.
It’s quite alarming to hear of a young man suffer from heart and lung complications, but thankfully Willem is expected to recover relatively quickly. This is also very disappointing news for anyone planning to attend their June shows, especially the tens of thousands of fans who looked forward to their EDC Las Vegas appearance.
W&W’s popularity has increased vastly over the past year with heavy endorsements from Armin van Buuren and Hardwell. Their 2013 single “The Code” was the most played song at Ultra Music Festival 15. Expect them to continue their upward trend once Willem reaches full health.
