Having proven themselves to be highly versatile, and innovative producers, Brandon and Jerry (who comprise X5IGHT), have stunned fans yet again with the release of their brand new EP, entitled 5:00 Shadow. Although they have dabbled quite successfully in a wide range of genres and styles, X5IGHT have always managed to let their foundational progressive, melodic sound shine through in their tracks, which is duly evident in this EP. Being well-known in the dance music industry for their ability to create rather impressive bootlegs and remixes, this release demonstrates to fans their proficiency with original tunes.
Consisting of three distinctive, yet cohesive tracks, the Chicago-based duo has shown us an interesting amalgamation of genres, taking a more minimalistic approach to the classic Progressive house style, which borders on Deep house at times. In addition to “The Luckiest Man”, which was released early as a free download for fans, the other two tracks have already been very well received by the electronic music scene, with “Hawkeye” already having reached the #7 spot on the Beatport Trance chart, and “Mayday” taking the #3 spot on the Minimal ranking.
