Distinguished trap music trio, Yellow Claw, has teamed up with Dutch producer, Cesqeaux as well as GRX (the alternate alias of the infamous 17-year-old Martin Garrix), to deliver this massive new tune, entitled “Psycho”, as a free download. Loaded with powerful bass and vehement rolling snares, this track builds with a frantic intensity to reach a climax which features a chilling, and unusual vocal sample. Its ominous melody, as well as its eerie synths and sound effects, mesh together uncannily to give rise to the sinister ambiance of the track, resulting in an ‘unearthly’ vibe.
Although Yellow Claw’s distinctive sound is present in the track, elements of Martin Garrix’ own style are also very pronounced, and certain big-room type traits somehow seem to come out within this trap tune, thus giving it a different feel from most of Yellow Claw’s previous releases. However, like the majority of Yellow Claw’s tunes, “Psycho” is sure to be a hit on the dance floor, and people will undoubtedly be “turning-up” to this horror-inspired track regardless of the fact that Halloween is nearly 10 months away.
