Porter Robinson is one of the most exciting producers of our generation and unless you’ve been following his career from its early establishment, you probably haven’t heard this tune. I’m speaking of a remix he created for Manyou of “Take Me Home,” which premiered on Goat & Fire – a radioshow – alongside Zedd’s “Shotgun” and Alvin Risk’s “Infinity” well over a year ago. I’m not sure as to why this remix was never officially released but I’m glad someone on the interwebz secured a quality ripped copy that we can stream at will.
Sidenote: Manyou was a trance duo made up of Manuel Reuter & Yanou (Yann Peifer). In 2004 they joined forces with Natalie Horler and formed Cascada, who are widely known for their singles “Everytime We Touch”, “What Hurts the Most” and “Evacuate the Dancefloor” .
Robinson’s cut of “Take Me Home” starts off with a trance sentimentality before moving into Manyou’s soothing lyrics which quickly transfer into an energetic storm of synths. His version then builds into a familiar electro house driven wave of modern talking style bars before reintroducing the stunning original vocals.
I can’t begin to tell you what I would do for a high quality, 320kbps copy of this record. Now-a-days Porter has his goals set on creating music that his beautiful and moving, though, I’ll never forget the “Take Me Home” days. If you’ve heard this track already I encourage you to listen again and share it with a friend and if you haven’t heard it, you’re welcome. Stay tuned to WhiteRaverRafting for more information on Porter Robinson’s forthcoming album.
