Young Man Dies on Molly Overdose at Paradiso Music Festival

Sadly one person passed away after overdosing on “Molly” and or a mix of other drugs at Paradiso Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre. According to reports from KOMO News, over 100 overdose patients were taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center while others were treated at Central Washington Hospital.

Sarina Fahrner, the chief nursing officer at Quincy Valley told KOMO that the patients ranged in age from 18 – 26. “When you have cocaine and LSD and meth all mixed together, it just does terrible things to your body,” she said. “Your heart doesn’t tolerate it very well, your breathing does not tolerate it very well.”

Over 23 people were also booked into jail during the festival for charges include possession, trespassing, assault and disorderly conduct.

Mike, it does say “molly” and/or a mix of other drugs. I’d say 95 percent of the readership on here are aware of what “molly” is.

A man was killed because an overdose on drugs (who cares if it was pure MDMA or MDMA cut with whatever), which is very sad, end of story. Also over 100 overdose patients? I think it is fine letting people know that drugs are dangerous and can lead to death.

Seriously, you headline is crap. 1) you don’t know if it was actually an overdose or if there was an underlying issue that was the cause of death. My guess is you haven’t seen the autopsy report NOR the toxicology report yet. 2) even If it was a confirmed overdose, you should refer to it by its proper name. “molly” is a slang term and really means NOTHING in terms of accurately identifying the actual drug which could have caused the issue. Kids are buying mollies and get getting mixed/cut drugs. Many aren’t even getting MDMA anymore and are getting methylone a majority of cases these days. 3) using slang terms helps no one in terms of harm reduction.
