Even though summer is almost over, there are still a ton of awesome music festivals remaining in 2013. Start planning the rest of your year out now.
Hard Summer (Aug 3-4) Los Angeles, CA
The lineup for Hard Summer is my favorite all year. Headliners include Knife Party, Duck Sauce, Dog Blood, Flux Pavilion, 2 Chainz, Disclosure and everyone who’s making real music. Here’s why you should go.
Summer Set (Aug 9-11) Somerset, WI
Excellent mix of acts similar to CounterPoint last year, minus the progressive house. Expect good vibes and awesome people. Tickets are priced with incredible value for fans. Buy yours today.
Electric Zoo (Aug 30 – Sep 1) New York, NY
Electric Zoo is hands down one of the most professionally ran events where the focus is clearly on the attendees. They just announced 14 official after parties after adding another mainstage to satisfy all dance music fans. Just look at the picture above? Why wouldn’t you want to be there?
Made in America (Aug 31 – Sep 1) Philadelphia, PA
Head to the City of Brotherly Love for Jay-Z’s Made in America festival featuring Beyonce, Deadmau5, Phoenix, EOTS, Calvin Harris, A$AP Rocky and more. You know Jay-Z is going to come out during Beyonce’s set and your partying and travel is covered because Monday is a national holiday. Tickets.
Virgin Freefest (Sep ?) Baltimore, MD
The one day free festival (as in $0) presented by Sir Richard Branson is one of a kind (see review). Hosted at Merriweather Post Pavilion, one of the most beautiful venues in the country, it played host last year to Skrillex, Nervo, Thomas Gold, Above & Beyond and Zedd. Tickets go quick, but we’ll keep you updated.
TomorrowWorld (Sep 27 – 29) Atlanta, GA
The ID&T Promotion makes its way to the sunny hills of Bouckaert Farm (site of CounterPoint last year) with a monstrous lineup featuring everyone. $397 gets you a 5-day pass, access to a pre-party put on by the guys at MCP Presents and camping. We’re all waiting to see the level of production TomorrowWorld is going to bring, but I expect it to be BIG.
Mountain Oasis (Oct 25 – 27) Asheville, NC
Moogfest returns as Mountain Oasis to Asheville, NC this Halloween weekend. The festival includes performances by Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Nine Inch Nails and Disclosure. VIP tickets are already sold out. Even though it’s a little early to think about Halloween, don’t sleep on getting yours now.
The Voodoo Experience (Nov 1 – 3) New Orleans, LA
After hitting The Buku Project back in March, I admittedly fell in love with New Orleans. The culture, atmosphere, oysters, gigantic powerful drinks and cheap strip clubs make it the most fun city in America. Even though they tried to get my beloved Baltimore Ravens to lose in the Superbowl, towns like New Orleans are the perfect hosts for festivals. Performers at Voodoo include Calvin Harris, Nine Inch Nails, Bassnectar, Afrojack, Boys Noize and Big Gigantic.
Electric Daisy Carnival (Nov 8 – 9) Orlando, FL
On the road to EDC Las Vegas, the carnival stops at Tinker Field in Orlando. After raving all over the U.S. I might have to give the slight edge to the South. When they get quality events like this, the kids go super hard. Hopefully Bassnectar will headline.
Lights All Night (New Years Eve) Dallas, TX
There’s no better way to close out the year than a music festival with your best friends. Last year featured Tiesto, Avicii, Zedd, Bassnectar, Axwell, Alesso and plenty more. This year will be even bigger than before!
Miss one? Lave it in the comments and we’ll add it to this post.
