While for many of us it’s still festival season, something that’s been largely slipping under the radar is how well Zedd’s “Moment of Clarity Tour” has sold out almost every single market. From Boston to Baltimore, Vancouver and Los Angeles, the demand to see Anton Zaslavski has never been higher. In some markets additional dates are being added to meet the demand.
While he’s certainly benefited from having “Clarity” a radio friendly single that has penetrated through to the American mainstream, Zedd live is an experience much different than his recordings. It’s high energy, electro-house even more so than his counterpart Porter Robinson.
Yet you’d be hard-pressed to find a recording. Whether it’s a contractual issue by his management or record label, live sets by Zedd are almost completely non-existent. Browsing through the Mixing.dj archives, there’s only four sets there with the Hard Summer recording sounding like someone did it on their iPhone.
Not everyone in buying into the hype however.
“He’s growing at a normal rate for an artist with music that’s topping the charts. Nothing is out of the ordinary here. It’s exciting to see a classically trained artist making noise like this.” – Evan Weinstein, talent buyer at Steez Promo.
Whether it’s because Zedd is topping the charts or backed by Jimmy Ovine, if you’re trying to catch him on the “Moment of Clarity Tour” you’d better act now and purchase your tickets.
