Jan/3/13 – Tonight at approximately 11:35 EST, Zedd will be performing a unique version of Clarity on CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman. As part of a special live rendition, the OWSLA prodigy will be performing with a full string section. Following the release of the original and full album we saw the acoustic adaptation (watch below) which sent chills down my spine.
One could certainly characterize and attack this move as “mainstream”. I’d have to agree, however, this kind of publicity is what the scene both deserves and needs. For Zedd to go on national TV and perform an acoustic version of an EDM track with a live string section is widespread justice slowly seeping into the homes of anyone who doesn’t believe DJ’s are musicians. An edm reality show is unfortunate for the scene. This my friends, sheds nothing but a necessary light on the diligence behind the production of the music we all love.
