Between the forced relocation of the Foundry Music Festival and the ban of electronic dance music events at the Exhibition Place, among other things, Toronto’s night life scene took a turn for the worse over the last few months. Though, it’s refreshing to see that not all of Canada is tired of the energy that EDM brings to the table.
Mayor Dennis Coderre and the city of Montreal announced that they’ll be extending the curfew on events for a short period of time this summer. Up to nineteen bars will be allowed to continue serving alcohol until 5:30 AM from June 5th to July 12th. Though this effort is short, if all goes well this test run could definitely be revisited in the future. Who knows, maybe the second biggest city in Canada – Montreal – will become the new hotspot for action hungry ravers, only time will tell.
