We are less than 20 days away from Electric Zoo 2015 held on Randall’s Island Park in beautiful New York City. This Labor Day Weekend tradition has been one the premiere festivals in the US since it’s inception in 2009. This year Electric Zoo: Transformed looks to take it up a couple notches and give the attendees a new experience without hindering their roots and their established New York City vibe.
No matter what festival you attend throughout the year, you are guaranteed to hear some of the most popular songs of the time being played by a major amount of the acts. Let’s face it, some songs are just so good that people don’t mind hearing them multiple times throughout the festival. Whether the track is played for a cheap pop or if an artist gives their own version or bootleg, we will hear some tracks more often than others.
So we have decided to list 10 tracks that we think will be part of the soundtrack of Electric Zoo 2015. Some new, some old but overall expect to hear these songs this Labor Day weekend.
1. Tiesto & KSHMR feat. Vassy- Secrets (Don Diablo VIP Remix)
The orginal version of this song has already made it’s way into all the top DJ’s sets so far this year. But Dutch producer Don Diablo has given this track a face lift by giving it that new future bass sound that will make any crowd go crazy.
2. Jauz & Ephwurd- Rock The Party
Sticking with the future bass sound, next we have a track from the “wubz” master Jauz. This track co-produced with Ephwurd gives that grimey new sound that has been so popular this year so far. Expect to hear this track from a variety of DJ’s this Labor Day Weekend.
3. Sam Feldt feat. Kimberly Anne- Show Me Love + Remixes
The classic phrase “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” comes into play here with Sam Feldt’s remake of the classic “Show Me Love.” This classic house song finds it’s way into every festival some way or another but this new remake may make more rounds than the original this year. With remixes from EDX, Quintino and Kryder & Staar you can guarantee to hear this at least once a day.
4. Calvin Harris feat. Disciples- How Deep is Your Love + Remixes
Let’s face it, any time Calvin Harris makes a new song it becomes a hit instantly. This time Calvin Harris has jumped into the deep end of the pool with his latest single. Though the original is very deep and slow, the hitmaker has teamed with R3HAB to make a festival anthem out of his latest hit. Expect to hear this track overplayed at the mainstage!
5. Valentino Khan- Deep Down Low
Without a doubt one of the most played songs in 2015, you will hear everyone from Avicii to Diplo rocking this tune. Though the remix EP has just been released for this track, nothing gets a pop quite like the original version.
6. Martin Garrix vs. Matisse & Sadko- Dragon
Every festival has one of those feel good anthems that get overplayed, and smart money is to be on this track being Electric Zoo’s feel good anthem. EDM’s golden child Martin Garrix has teamed with Russian duo Matisse & Sadko to deliver this uplifting feel good anthem.
7. Quintino- Devotion
Going back to the idealogy of Sam Feldt’s rework of “Show Me Love,” this track follows the same principle. Quintino has brought the classic melody of the Bingo Player’s track and given it a 2015 spin making it more suiting for the festival season.
8. Kid CuDi- Pursuit of Happiness (Steve Aoki Remix)
Even though this remix is almost 4 years old, it still gets a lot of plays. Possibly one of the greatest festival anthems of all time, Steve Aoki has added a superb festival sound to a song with a message that all festival goers can relate too. For the past three years this song is continuosly played out at this festival by a lot of the top acts. Possibly for nostalgia reasons or for the fact that this song still works as good today as it did when it was released.
9. Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MO- Lean + Remixes
Yes you hear it everywhere, and you will defiantly hear it Labor Day Weekend at Electric Zoo. This summer anthem has recieved quite the remix treatment so get ready to hear this one a lot.
10. Firebeatz & Schella- Dear New York
When in New York I guess…
