Yesterday the Huffington Post published an article written by Montreal born DJ/producer A-Trak. The article covers the issue behind ‘button pushing’ DJs as well as Deadmau5’s tumbler rant, Steve Angello’s infamous ‘How To Fake Your Fans!‘ video, the term ‘EDM’, and more. After reading through the article multiple times Alain Macklovitch (A-Trak) provides insightful information from his point of view. As you read the article keep these questions in mind: Is this the future of DJ’s for generations to come? Is turntablism dead? do you see your favorite artists and hear the same track list every time?
I personally agree with the majority of what A-Trak says. There are so many questions you can ask yourself, each question has a magnitude of answers. This is one of the best articles I’ve read in a while, a must read for dance music fans. Let us know your thoughts by posting on our Facebook page or tweeting at us.
