The mad electronic scientist known as AtrophIA, or Ian Hiscock, seemingly does it all. He plays regularly at different venues in Salt Lake, works very closely with V2 Presents out of Salt Lake City, and has played many of their festivals. We attended one of V2’s events back in August, Das Energi Festival and we were completely blown away. He’s also signed to the label Nova Lotus also out of Salt Lake. When he’s not throwing down on the decks or creating beautiful music, he’s also (among other things) the marketing director at Sky in Salt Lake. Ian’s most certainly got his hand in the dance music cookie jar, and appears to have an endless supply of those cookies.

AtrophIA does just that with this track. Deep drums knock as the synths trickle back and fourth, heavy and dark bass wubs in the background as a euphoric element sinks in and smooths the track. Our favorite part has to be the first stanza of Poe’s poem echoing and bouncing at the end of the track. A small, but meaningful detail that really adds character and passion to the track. Bravo AtrophIA, bravo.
