After opening with “Alcoholic”, Tim Bergling (Avicii) went on to drop some trap music before some of the new tracks from his debut album due out this year. We told you that he was working with some weird producers and the result is much different than we expected.
Even though it’s Avicii, the producer who has largely been casted as the “no-talent producer of LEVELS” we could not have predicted him to move towards a more mellow almost folky sound. If you make it to 10:30, you’ll immediately understand what I’m referring to.
It’s confusing that one of the world’s most popular dj’s would deviate from the formula that had been working so well. I understand that desire to shock the world, but I would have much rather preferred him go back to the sound of “Street Dancer” than the new music that reminds me of Mumford & Sons.
What impact do you think this has on the album? Will Avicii release the music as-is or do you think he used Ultra as a platform to test the dramatically different style?
Sound off in the comments!
