In this remix of ‘Forefather’ (released via Designer Drugs‘ Sex Cult Records) Monolith uses arpeggiated synths throughout the build to heighten the excitement as the vocal lines come across more and more quickly leading to the drop.
When the drop tastefully arrives, its bright and viscous sounding, with a nice array of synth lines that Monolith put together with great precision. He changes it up a bit in the second drop by resorting to a drumstep rhythm, maintaining the same synth lines but giving the song a faster, more energized feel. It’s refreshing to see rap lyrics twined into something besides trap right now and I’m feeling the bass thirsty vibe on this one.
