With a phase one lineup full of huge mainstage names and deftly selected up-and-comers – see our spotlights on Cosby Sweater and Manic Focus if you need confirmation – it was difficult to see how Camp Bisco 12 could get much better. But after nearly a month of build-up, MCP Presents delivered in a big way with today’s phase two announcement.
Without further ado, here’s phase two:
Destroid (Excision-Downlink-KJ Sawka), Madeon, Danny Brown, Seven Lions, Bondax, Digital Tape Machine, Moon Boots, Perseus, Strip Steve, Autobody, AlphaData, Manhattan Project, and a “Surprise act to come”
There are the obvious highlights – pioneering live dubstep act Destroid performing one of their first shows ever, electro-pop wiz Madeon and ethereal trancestep producer Seven Lions – and plenty of under-the-radar talents – Moon Boots, Perseus, and Bondax stand out immediately, bringing a deep, disco-house vibe that’s sure to get Bisco attendees grooving. There’s even a surprise guest yet to be announced – I’m putting in an early prediction for Dog Blood, which I’ll back up in a bit.
The second phase announcement also brought with it a plethora of extracurricular information on the three-day festival set to take place July 11th-13th just outside Albany, New York. The ever-popular Silent Disco, Color Wars, yoga classes and carnival rides will be back for the twelfth iteration of Bisco, along with some new attractions. “Special demonstrations” and the “Bisco Airbag” both caught my eye; I’m envisioning hair-styling lessons from Bassnectar and Dillon Francis wrestling Flux Pavilion in a battle of the blondes on a giant moon bounce, but we’ll wait and see before getting our hopes up.
And finally, with the announcement came the curators of this year’s late night tents: OWSLA vs. Boys Noize Records, French Express, and Thissongissick.com. Here is where I draw the conclusion of Dog Blood as CB12’s special guest. OWSLA and Boys Noize Records are headed by Skrillex and Boys Noize, respectively. Boys Noize is already on the line-up and Skrillex has played Bisco the past two years. With the insane amount of hype that has surrounded Dog Blood’s formation and live premiere, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Sonny Moore jumping around the stage before the weekend is through.

Tickets for Camp Bisco are currently $185, but will go up to $199 once the limited allotment of general admission tickets sell out. With the full lineup now announced, I’d err on the side of caution and grab them sooner rather than later.
