Camp EDC: Unique & Worth Every Penny

This year will mark my 10th EDC Las Vegas. For the first eight years, I always stayed on the Strip, whether it was the Luxor, Mandalay Bay, The Venetian, Airbnbs, you name it. I stayed there because I was taking advantage of the endless amounts of EDC Week events leading up to the festival itself, and then in-between each day I would attend pool parties, and moar pool parties. I loved every second of it.

But for EDC Las Vegas 2018, some of my crew camped, and I was skeptical. How could Camp EDC beat these insane shows and events on The Strip? Last year in 2021, I gave camping a shot with an RV and seven friends, and I’ll never go back to staying on The Strip ever again.

The environment, atmosphere, the Thursday night kickoff party, daily sunrise sets, epic daily pool parties, games, organized events, clean FREE showers, carnival rides… I could go on and on. I have never been camping for a festival that included so many amentities, with no additional fees. This year will be my 2nd year staying in Camp EDC, with many more to come, and let me go into more detail why!

Map It

Camp EDC sits in the lots on the north side outside of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. As soon as you get off of Interstate 15 going North, it’ll be awaiting you! A mix of shiftpods and RVs getting set up as far as the eye can see! One new addition for this year, on the far right side of Camp EDC is the Turquoise area. This area is meant to be for the more quiet and chill camping area, that is separated from the main area by a building that will still have its own ammentities, so that Headiners don’t need to venture to the middle of the main camping area, The Mesa.

The Mesa

More like The Mecca, it is where all of the gatherings, events, activities, vendors, grub, and more happen. Composed of food trucks, vendors selling goods, The Oasis Pool/Pirate’s Cove, and three shaded areas/tents, The Three Mountains, include Sol, Cascada, and Tierra. It is where all activities that you want to get in on happen. Yoga with goats, meditation, crafts, guest speakers, wellness events, massages, hair dressers and more, this is where you wanna be to indulge and expand your horizon beyond the music.

The Oasis Pool

Daily pool parties from 1 – 5pm at the Oasis Pool will keep you going, getting you some much needed vitamin D before heading into EDC Las Vegas! Artists haven’t been announced for 2022 yet, but in 2021 artists included 12th Planet, Dombresky, NOIZU, Wax Motif, Westend, J.Worra, and more! We’ll see you at the Pirate’s Cove!

Thursday Night Kickoff Party

With Camp EDC opening up on Thursday, May 19, another added bonus is your very own seven hour kickoff party! From 8pm to 3am, meet up with your fellow camping Headliners at the Mesa stage for a kickoff party that may be one of your favorite nights of the whole weekend. It was for me! Last year’s performers included John Summit, Dom Dolla, Torren Foot, and more! Lineup to be announced soon!

Camp EDC Hours

Thursday, May 19th, 9am – Monday, May 23rd, 5pm. All campers must be fully packed and vacating the campground by 5pm on Monday, May 23rd.

Camp EDC Check-In

• Thursday, May 19th: 9am–Midnight
• Friday, May 20th: 9am–2pm – please note festival traffic begins arriving at 2pm so wait times could be longer. 
• Saturday, May 21st: 9am–2pm – please note festival traffic begins arriving at 2pm so wait times could be longer. 

Please arrive only during the check-in hours posted, and allow extra time for unexpected delays, as closing times are strict. If you arrive late, we will not be able to admit you into the campground until check-in opens the following day.

Separate Arrivals

If you are arriving after your group has already checked in to the campground and claimed your campsite; if you are driving you must have or purchase the blue lot parking pass to enter the Blue Lot, park, gather your items, and proceed to the check in tent. You must provide your group’s camping confirmation email and your personal festival wristband. Camping wristbands will be granted only if your campsite’s capacity has not yet been reached (e.g., each Moon Glow campsite will receive up to four camping wristbands total). Please keep in mind our check-in hours, as arrivals outside of these times will not be accommodated.

INS & OUTS

• All campers will have in/out privileges to and from the festival (during festival hours) and a dedicated campers-only festival entrance.
• Campers must scan in & out when going from the campground to the festival and vice versa. This is required in order to gain re-entry.
• Campers with a valid Camp EDC wristband are allowed to leave Camp EDC on foot.
• Festival goers who do not have valid Camp EDC wristbands will not have in/out privileges from the festival to the campground or access to the campground at any time.

Hopefully I’ve sold it well! There are limited Camp EDC passes and EDC Las Vegas VIP passes left, so get yours here, and we’ll see all of you beautiful Headliners at the Speedway!
